The Great Outdoors remains open for all to enjoy and boating is a social distancing-friendly activity for many. Whether you have a boat or not, fishing is a great way to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. There are many awesome places to fish in the greater Kansas City area but navigating which lakes and boat ramps are open can be tricky. As of today, all local lakes are open for boating and fishing. Marinas are mostly closed so plan accordingly if you need gas or refreshments. Check out the list below for links to your favorite lake to get the most updated information.
Missouri fishing tags:
Missouri Department of Conservation announced they are temporarily waiving permit requirements for sport fishing and daily trout tags for Missouri residents and nonresidents whose fishing privileges are not otherwise suspended. The waiver of needing a permit or trout tag to fish will run from Friday, March 27, through April 15.
Missouri:
Longview: All boat ramps remain open.
Blue Springs: All boat ramps remain open.
Lake Jacomo : All boat ramps remain open.
Smithville: All boat ramps remain open.
Kansas:
Kansas state parks, fishing lakes and wildlife areas are open to the public – including campgrounds, boat ramps and restroom facilities. For the latest updates, check here.
Clinton: Boat Ramp # 1 and 2 (Marina) are open in the State Park.
Hillsdale: All Ramps are open
Perry: Remains open
Wyandotte County Lake: Remains open
